NAMI Next Gen
Austin Wyman (he/him/his) is an aspiring Psychometrician from New Orleans, LA. He is currently an undergraduate senior at the University of Notre Dame, where he serves as the President of his Active Minds chapter. He is also a research assistant for two psychology labs: the Center for Advanced Measurement of Personality and Psychopathology (CAMPP) and the Lab for Big Data Methodology. His family's struggle with mental illness and the awful depictions of externalizing behavior in the media have inspired him to pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology and fight against the stigma that harms countless families through research, education, and public policy. As a NAMI Next Gen Member, Austin is eager to support the health and wellness of underrepresented populations and demonstrate that individuals are more than the sum of their chemical imbalances.
