Lisa B. Dixon, M.D., MPH
NAMI Board of Directors
Dr. Lisa B. Dixon, M.D., MPH, is a member of the NAMI Board of Directors. She is a psychiatrist at Columbia University, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York State Psychiatric Institute and health services researcher who has published numerous articles focused on the care of individuals with serious mental illness.
Lisa’s family and she received help and support to cope with her brother's illness. She has collaborated with NAMI to help establish the effectiveness of NAMI's family-to-family education program. Her main accomplishments have been to promote issues regarding the role of families in supporting loved ones with mental illness and to study programmatic effectiveness and hopes to work on advancing the uptake and impact of the organization’s signature programs through her affiliation with NAMI. “I want to make NAMI more visible to mental health professionals.”
For the 2022-2023 Board year, she serves as Chair to the Research, Support & Education Committee and is a member of the Public Policy Workgroup.
