NAMI Board of Directors
Vanessa Price, B.A., is a member of the NAMI Board of Directors and a member of NAMI of Greater OKC. She works as a NDCI Division Director at the National Association of Drug Court Professionals in Alexandria, VA.
Vanessa first found NAMI through collaborative partnership work as part of the Oklahoma County Treatment Court. She hopes to be a part of broadening the collaborations with law enforcement and criminal justice to prioritize the needs and differing abilities of individuals living with mental illness and change the stigma associated with this population through her affiliation with NAMI.
She has 32 years of law enforcement and criminal justice experience, with 20 years of the experience in criminal justice and treatment court design, development, implementation and program operations. She has four years of experience with NDCI designing, evaluating and managing all aspects of treatment courts with an emphasis on law enforcement involvement and trauma informed approaches in the criminal justice system. Her expertise includes development and delivery of innovative and effective training to support the public safety aspect of treatment courts. She serves as a law enforcement subject matter expert with an emphasis on developing curriculum to address the intersection of criminal justice, mental illness and substance use disorders.
She earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice and has an Associate degree in Applied Police Science.
For the 2022-2023 Board year, Vanessa serves as Chair to the Justice Systems, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a member of the Public Policy Workgroup.
